So I’ve been on a creative kick lately (which, after years in dry territory, I’m not looking this gift horse in the mouth). Here are a couple of new pieces that' I’ve created. Recently completed for upcoming “Lucid Dreams” exhibition at Cactus Gallery in Los Angeles is a 6 x 6 inch wooden hexagon painted in Acrylic, Ink and Pencil. A mysterious figure haunts my dreams, usually once I am to enter a precarious situation. I call it the Guardian and she looks like a sterner, more intimidating version of myself. (There will be no prints)

Just completed this 24x30” painting in acrylic and ink for the annual Frida Festival in Houston Texas, brought to you by fellow Chingona, Lizbeth Ortiz. I am pretty pleased at how this one turned out. She doesn’t have a name just yet, but it will come to me.

Linocut Printing ...
I recently took up a new medium to get the creative juices flowing and I am loving the folky aesthetic of it. Linocut prints date back to the 1800’s and was a way to mass produce artwork and printing. It' lends itself quite beautifully to chicano arts, as well. I have several different prints / cards available that I’ve created in my shop.
Willie Jack ...
If you haven’t seen it, check out Taika Waititi’s “Reservation Dogs” on Hulu. The second season should be coming out soon. One of my favorite characters is “Willie Jack” and I was inspired to paint this portrait of her iconic look, a nod to Tarantino’s “Reservoir Dogs”. Prints in several sizes are available here.
