it’s a cropped area of the piece called “melancholy baby” [i had no business calling it clara bow, since it doesn't resemble her at all, in my opinion]. i suppose the photo from which i worked from just drew me in, it’s hard to escape, so i revisit it as often as i can. this is just one incarnation. i’m also working on another wood piece, as well. the original belongs to kimmy … to which i’ve YET to send it to *hangs head*. so many things going on, hard to do what’s absolutely necessary. [i could really use an assistant, i think i mentioned this, yes?]

at any rate, going to swing by elder street with an armful of things i worked on over the weekend and see if they accept any of them. here is a snapshot of what i’ll be taking:

the two pieces on the right are giclees, size 5 x 5, but they’re handpainted and handgilded. here is a small piece i began working on when the frame i bought for one of my wood pieces was off by just a hair [it's easy to CUT canvas, but sanding down wood is a whole other nightmare]. so i worked up this piece called ‘Timeless’, in sepia tones with a touch of purple lake to match the frame:

measures 1.75 x 2 inches.

also, i had another klimt reproduction in the works and found a matching frame as the other klimt piece. this is entitled “expectation” from the Tree of Life painting. i had a horrible time with the gold leaf on this one since the painting was still a bit tacky and the gold leaf was discerning between the gold leaf tack and the oil tack. regardless, i rather like the way it all turned out. surprising her expression turned out the way it did considering this piece is only 2×2 inches. talk about luck [must have been working with a stray hair for the eyes]

it’s been fun and challenging working on these all weekend. the problem now though is i’m afraid it’s sunday [well, technically, 1:40 a.m. monday] and my work week at my regular job begins tomorrow [er ... today]. no rest for the wicked. [additionally, i have several art deadlines and mailouts to do. and this is where i lament over not having an asistant. *sigh*]
