monday thoughts …

i received the email regarding the grammy event and i’m not sure what to make of it. these were some of the points in the email:

  • The event is black tie
  • Television sets go live at 7:00 p.m., this means you HAVE to be in your seats no later than 6:45.  (in order to make sure that you are on time, please try and get to the Toyota Center between 6:15-6:30).  If by some chance you are late, you will have to wait until a commercial break to be seated.
  • If you would like to attend the pretelecast awards ceremony, you have to be in your seat by 4:15 p.m.

i suppose my biggest question is “where are we sitting?” i just assumed we’d have nosebleed seats, which is fine by me, but would they put such rules if we were in those seats? hrm.

i’m told they’re going to seat the artists and their guests together, so i’ll be among friends. i don’t have anything “black tie” and neither does tim. well, nothing that fits either of us anyway. i can’t see spending the cash on this sort of attire, so we may resort to “rentals”. eesh.

i’m rather excited. i’ve switched out my “birthday day off” from monday to the friday before in the event we do some further celebrating. :)

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

in other news, my dear sweet alexis is undergoing surgery today to have a portion of her diaphragm excised and replaced [it is the tissue being affected with mesothelioma]. from there she will begin the “sugarbaker procedure” to treat the affected area directly with chemotherapy.  this is a very aggressive and radical procedure, but i have nothing but faith and good vibes as to how this will go. however, your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery are definitely welcome and appreciated.
