HA! We don't have that tradition in Minnesota. I'm kind of glad; I think they look awful! Then again, wearing team colors to a game is considered 'fanatical' up here, so wearing a giant mum with school colors would be considered really obnoxious. Not so in Texas, where everything is BIG. It's nice of you to make one for your son's girlfriend. That's a very supportive-mom thing to do...and much better than spending $200 on a huge plastic flower. :) Wow.
