a throwback …
the bean has a girlfriend. [*sigh*] he also has a homecoming game coming up. with his injury [which, through therapy at the local high school ... omg, yes, they have a sports rehabilitation center], he probably won’t play, but he’s still jazzed about it. that’s thursday. friday is the homecoming dance. we went to hobby lobby and picked up an assortment of things to make a homecoming mum for his sweetheart.
aaaah, the good old days. i remember making my own in junior high. my parents were too poor to buy me one and i just couldn’t see spending over 40 dollars on something so silly. i probably spent about 8 dollars and made a cute little thing.
today we gathered up a number of things and i’ve started on it. [i really really should be working on other more pressing things, like, say, the lawndale day of the dead entry that i haven't even begun and is due this week, but i digress]. these things can become monstrous. i didn’t realize they were just a somewhat local thing. i wonder if other places besides texas and oklahoma get as involved with these things. and christ! some of things sell for upwards of $200!!!
