clash! of the schedulings

i hadn’t heard much from the latin grammys about the supposed event to be taking place in september which would announce the featured work and showcase those entries not chosen. nothing apart from an email indicating a “change in schedules” recently due to the weather. when i emailed them back to inquire about details and dates, i was told my invitation was mailed. i received it today [yippee!]. it’s for Friday, September 19th, which happens to coincide with <a href=”http://www.flickr.com/photos/six06/2776126744/sizes/o/”>this event</a>. fortunately, however, it is early enough [6 p.m.] that i can do both that evening [although it doesn't specify when it is over]. unfortunately, it’s on a friday, which means i’ll be working until four. i won’t have time to run home, shower and change for the events. essentially, i’ll have to stay in town and ready myself after hours at work [the museum is only five minutes away from my workplace, whereas i live 40 minutes away.

they list the participating artists, but i don't see george manzur's name anywhere. i wonder if he received an invitation.

i'm getting bit antsy about a lot of things. all part of the stress routine, i suppose. today julian and  i had to get to his old junior high school before six and were there at 5:55 [after my having to pick him up from football practice and picking up fixings for dinner]. he was worried we’d be late and i snapped and said “they owed it to us to wait … seeing as the yearbook we’re picking up is over four months late.” i never heard of such a thing … a yearbook being given out at the BEGINNING of a school year, from the LAST school year. i mean, correct me if i’m wrong, but i believe the whole appeal to getting a yearbook is having your friends to sign it with crap like “have a nice summer” and “i’ve always had a crush on you” or “lalo y chita por vida y que”. you get my drift. whatever. anyway, yeah, i’m snappy. so what. hrmph.
