i can see this is going nowhere
my approach to altered art is this:
- gather as much crap as you can
- separate it
- experiment with small bits
- if that works, do a series of small bits [easier to produce en masse, it's cost effective and time effective]
- occasionally photo document your progress
- lament at the amount of mess you’ve created
- lament further that you’re still nowhere near any clue about where to begin
my room looks as if all my boxes of doohickeys threw up. it’s hard to get “in the mood” when there’s so much mess around me. the good thing is, i know where everything is. the bad thing, i still have no clue where to begin.
i’ve formulate a couple of ideas for several pieces in my head. i suppose i SHOULD sketch them out, as i’m sure that will help guide me in as so much as to what i’m aiming for. this flying by the seat of my pants crap does not seem to apply to this sort of art. i’m a little peeved at that, because i have wings on my butt in practically everything that i do.
. . . . . .
in other news, tim’s asked me to put together a few paintings, a bio and some business cards for him. he spoke to the people over at mosquito cafe and they’re looking for artists to show their work. it’s the first time i’ve had tim handle this part. not that there’s much to it, mind you. we’ll see how it pans out.
tonight i’ll be at fitzgerald’s for The Hates cd release party. woohoo!! [please don't tow my car ... again].
