just got back from the hospital. the bean’s had a sore throat since last week. took him the doctor last week where they figured he had just a case of tonsillitis and prescribed him zirthromyacin [or something somewhat spelled like that]. as the week went on, it got progressively worse until today he developed a lump on the side of his neck [a swollen nymph node, i suspected] and lost the ability to move his head much, as his muscles were inflamed. tim was concerned with this and his fever and said i should take him in to the hospital [tim's at a scout campout this weekend, over a hundred miles away]. we saw dr. hall who said it looked like strep throat, but if he wasn’t improving within seven days, bring him back for bloodwork to determine if it may be mono. we came home after an interesting visit to the 24 hours walgreen’s pharmacy with a bag full of meds. guh. the kid never gets sick, but when he does, he doesn’t do it half-assed, i’ll give him that.
